Back at "Home"

I wanted to let everyone know I was discharged today from the hospital.  We are back at "home" (our apartment in Cincinnati).  Ellie monitored on the NST (heart) machine great during our hospital stay.  They have me on a diabetic diet now, but they are really considering me borderline due to the fact my blood sugars are not that off from what they should be.  They also gave me a medicine to help in assisting to break down the carbohydrates.  It seems to be doing the trick today as my numbers are staying the same each time we test them.  Matt and I are both glad to be home resting.  Ellie is glad to be home too! The goal now is to make it 3 weeks and then be induced.

We toured the labor and delivery part of the hospital and the NICU where Ellie will be.  Both of us were a lot more at ease and comfortable with everything we saw.  I will admit though reality hit me yesterday when we were in the NICU.  It's hard to explain, I know this is where she is going, but it's a strange feeling to see it first hand.  I guess it's safe to say its hard to admit that your daughter is going there right after birth, but I know she will be taken such good care of there.Everyone there that we met  was so nice and helpful, answering any questions we had.  I know Ellie is going to be in good hands there.

I am exhausted and going to lay down and rest some more.  One would think laying around for three days you would not be tired, but you get checked and poked on a lot and its hard to sleep for more than a couple hours at a time at night.

We have our regular ultrasound/NST tomorrow.  I will let you know the results tomorrow.  The goal with getting me on a diet and controlling my blood sugars was to hopefully control my fluid and not let it grow anymore.  We will hopefully see some good results from that tomorrow.

Love,
April

Oh, and Sidney is doing really good.  She has settled in to the new apartment and is staying on her own when we have to be gone.  Her grandma and grandpa stayed with her this weekend while we were away.  She loves that because she gets a lot more treats when they are here!  We were both sooo glad to get home to her!
