Ellie needs your prayers

Ellie had a good morning but her lung is now expanding from the ventilator.  The doctor and the surgeon want her to go ahead and have the ECMO done now why her vitals are good.  They anticipate being able to get more information that is crucial to her care once she is on the ECMO.  The ECMO is a machine that will operate her heart and lung for her.  The goal is to allow her body to be completely calm and rest for a little why and then slowly allow her lungs to start working for her again.  The ECMO is something that we/they didn't want to have to do but it is necessary at this time.  If they were to wait longer to do the ECMO there could be other issues to deal with.

Cincinnati Children's hospital has been the leader of ECMO procedures in the country for over 20 years.

While the ECMO is nothing new, it is still surgical procedure and there are risks involved.  PLEASE continue to pray for our baby Ellie.  We still believe in our God and we still believe in the power of prayer.  We need our God to hear our prayer...
