Just Waiting....

That is what we are doing right now.  We are waiting for the surgeons to make a decision on if and when they are going to do the chest expander surgery on Ellie.  Please pray for the surgeons who are making these decisions.  We know they are skilled and I pray God uses them to help Ellie.  The surgery we are waiting for them to make a decision on now should ultimately help Ellie's airway and allow her to ventilate better.  She has to have that.  I pray that God would use these doctors to help Ellie in a way they never dreamt possible.  We know with Him that it is possible.  That is what I am trusting in and pray you would trust in as well.

Since we are waiting, they have not made any changes on Ellie.  This is good and frustrating all at the same time.  Ellie is comfortable so that is good.  Ellie is still twitching and moving a little ( and when I say a little I mean very little) which is good.  The doctors want her to do this.  Whats frustrating is that we still don't have a plan.  Whats also frustrating is that we still can't hold her, yet.  Dr. Lim, Ellie's general surgeon came to see Ellie yesterday and check on her.  He is such a compassionate man and I like to think has really bonded with Ellie.  A lot of the nurses say he is the kind of doctor that cares for his patients in a way that not a lot of doctors do.  How awesome to us that we have him.  Matt asked, AGAIN, like he always does if I can hold her.  Dr. Lim, said YES, when I have a plan from the other surgeons.  We will take that.  It's a hope to hold on to.  Whats funny with Dr. Lim, is that after Matt asked if I could hold her, he leaned over to me and said "He says you, but he means him!".  It's nice to have a more personal relationship with a doctor.  We don't have to much of that here like we have with Dr. Lim.  It's comforting in a way I can't really explain.  I guess you could say he is on our side.  That means a lot to us.  Oh, and Matt told me after I told him what Dr. Lim said, that he would love to hold Ellie, but if it was a choice between me or him, he would let me hold her hands down.  That is just one example of what an awesome husband I have.

So, that is kind of where we are at right now.  Please continue to pray for Ellie's pulmonary hypertension to improve and not worsen.  That is a major factor in Ellie's overall health.  We know our God is capable of anything.  That is what we trust and believe in each and every day.

Love you all,
Ellie's Mommy
