Where does our help come from? Our help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. The last 15 months our life has been one big storm. That "storm" picked up force on December 28th, 2010, when we found out that our Ellie had some anomalies. Since the life changing arrival of Ellie on May 25th, 2011, that same "storm" has gotten stronger and then turned weaker. We are so thankful that our God has been with us and has held every tear that we have cried. The following song has been one of April and my favorites since the first time we heard it. Now, it takes on a totally different meaning to us. It's funny how we put things into perspective based on what we know or have been through. It's funny how, at times, life seems so difficult and that it can't get any worse. Let me tell you, life can always be worse. After spending a fair amount of time in the worse place on earth, I find myself hurting for the parents that are in our same situation. At times we wonder why life leads us down certain paths, and to be perfectly honest, only God knows. He knows what's best for us, what we can handle, but most importantly, he sees the big picture. We cannot comprehend that big picture and may never know why. So, we will praise Him in this storm and we will lift our hands for He is who He is no matter where we are because He knows what's best for His people and His Kingdom.
Praise You in This Storm
performed by Casting Crowns
words by Mark Hall/music by Mark Hall and Bernie Herms
I was sure by now,God, that You would have reached down
and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen
and it's still raining
as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away.
Chorus:
And I'll praise you in this storm
and I will lift my hands
for You are who You are
no matter where I am
and every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side
and though my heart is torn
I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You
and raised me up again
my strength is almost gone how can I carry on
if I can't find You
and as the thunder rolls
I barely hear You whisper through the rain
"I'm with you"
and as Your mercy falls
I raise my hands and praise
the God who gives and takes away
I lift my eyes onto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
If you haven't heard this song we encourage you to listen to it. This song touches our heart. Keep praying!
