Decorating Ellie's temporary "bed"

Grandma and daddy's handy work for Ellie's cork board.  Do you think it looks girly enough?  That's what happens when a very proud daddy goes to Hobby Lobby to pick out little girl stuff to make a poster for his baby girl.
"Great Grandma" Donna bought Ellie a stuffed dog today.  Ellie loves dogs!
Ellie received an new bed today.  It's a adjustable memory foam bed!

I thought I would start with pictures first today!  Ellie had another good day.  She did have a little set back when they tried to install a PICC line in her arm today.  I don't think anyone would be happy with having a catheter inserted into their body.  Ellie's blood pressure and oxygen level dropped today at the time the PICC was going to be installed.  Unlike the last few days, she bounced back very quickly.  An Ophthalmologist did an eye exam on her today and said everything looks good.  Other than that, she is staying strong and fighting hard.  The doctors are starting to wean her off some of the medicines she is on to see how she does.  Some of her treatment is trial and error because they have never seen a child like this before..... she is 1 in a million!  In case some of you are wondering - Ellie's anomalies are a very rare "fluke" that happened shortly after conception were some of the genes didn't come together properly.  There is no indication that April and I have any kind of compatibility issues.
The infamous Dr Greenberg stopped by today, on his day off to see Ellie.  That's exactly the kind of man he is..... Remarkable.

April is feeling better today but she is absolutely worn out.  Having your daughter in the NICU in critical care is very emotionally draining and it takes a toll on your body.  Please continue to pray for our baby girl.  She is continuing to improve, but our Lord still has more work to do.  Let's continue to ask him to heal her and allow her to come home to us very soon.   Thank you all for following this blog.  It means so much to both of us!
