I remember this day a year ago just like it was yesterday. I had hardly gotten any sleep the night before. I was nervous and excited. We were hoping for good news. I was pretty convinced we were going to get it. I woke up very early. I just could not wait any longer. I got up and took the test. My heart was beating triple time. Probably faster than that. It only took a few seconds to see what would make my heart smile for the first time in months. We were expecting you! How excited I was. I couldn't wait to go wake your daddy up and tell him the good news. He was so excited. We were so happy. You were growing and living inside of me. How awesome that was!
We made two phone calls to let two very special people know that we were expecting you! They were two people that shared such a special moment with us. It was the moment we got to see your big sister. These two people had become friends for life to us and we wanted them know just as soon as we knew that you were coming. They were so excited for us.
Little did daddy and I know Ellie Kate, the impact you were going to make on so many hearts. Mommy and daddy were just happy to know at that moment you were coming in to our lives in nine months. We couldn't wait to see you and meet you. You were loved from the minute your life began. You were God's precious gift of life, chosen especially for us.
I know you are in heaven, smiling and laughing and playing with your big sister. Mommy and daddy think of you each day. We love you so much. I will never forget the Saturday, Ellie Kate, when we found out we were expecting you. It's a moment I will treasure in my heart forever.
